Another mix-up of music I’ve been listening to lately, most of it new.

1. Boris - Pink (Pink, 2005)

Just an awesome track. Boris likes to open with a weird experimental track, and then the second song is just killer. Pink is an amazing album.

2. The Prodigy - Omen (Invaders Must Die, 2009)

Real good. I dig The Prodigy, and this is more of a return to form from back in their Experience and Music For The Jilted Generation days, much more rave based than that Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned shit.

3. dj TAKA - snow storm -original mix- (Milestone, 2007)

dj TAKA’s stuff for the Bemani series is always good, but snow storm is an exceptionally cool track, and this is the original version, not the shortened version that appears in IIDX and was intended to appear in ITG3. Grab the album if this sounds at all interesting, it’s wicked good.

4. Lily Allen - Everyone’s At It (It’s Not Me, It’s You, 2009)

British hip-hop/electropop from Lily Allen, the daughter of New Order collaborator Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, and the goddaughter of Joe Strummer, the singer and guitarist for The Clash and Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros (and briefly the singer of The Pogues). This is her second album and from what I hear isn’t as good as her first, which got some pretty critical acclaim.

5. At the Drive-In - Plastic Memories (Alfaro Vive, Carajo!, 1995)

I think this is AtDI’s first EP, you can tell by the messiness and the garage sound. But LISTEN TO THE DRUMMING. Tony Hajjar is a monster. The beat he’s playing is ridiculous. Also, if the song sounds familiar, it’s the first version that was eventually turned into Picket Fence Cartel on In/Casino/Out. If you don’t know AtDI, listen to or ask me for Relationship of Command, probably my favorite album of all time.

6. Ween - Buckingham Green (The Mollusk, 1997)

Amazing album. Amazing song. Amazing guitar solo.

7. Boris - Statement (Smile, 2008)

Rockin’ song from their new album, Smile. Boris continues to kick so much ass.
